Tedy at 7 months

Tedy turned 7 months on October 28th, 2012

-has regulated his naps into predicable blocks a short one early in the morning, a two hour nap late morning. then he's up for a three hour block in the afternoon (yippee) and then another short nap .

-has started eating solid food. Tedy loves: squash and oatmeal. He will tolerate rice cereal, bananas, carrots. Does. not. like. green beans.

-can sit up for long periods of time. This has been my favorite development. He looks SO cute sitting up. He can reach his toys and can entertain himself for long stretches. He's so much happier now that he can sit up unassisted !

-He's starting to launch himself forward to get toys. While a week or so ago this resulted in several face plants, he's getting better at catching himself with his hands. He then flops onto his stomach with a final twist over to his back. Quite the little acrobat :)

-We made the switch to cloth diapers and Tedy's a fan!

-His favorite toys right now are blocks, board books, his pop-up toy (not sure what it's called...then thing where you push bottons and animals pop out of doors) and anything he can put in his mouth to sooth his poor teething gums.

-grew right out of his clothes. seriously. He was in 9 month clothes for about a week. Actually he only has a few 9 month clothes and then he went right into 12 month. Now the 12 month fit him snugly and he can wear some 18 month clothes....at 7 months!

-Has become SO expressive and cute. He wrinkles his nose when he smiles and started inhaling and gasping with excitement. Oh, my, does he make my heart melt!

-Stranger anxiety is here in a big way. He does not like it when people have facial hair, or sunglasses. He's still smiley for some people but then others that he does not know he will start to wail :( Now that his naps are regulated enough that he can actually go to the church nursery, he last about 2 minutes before I have to come rescue him.

-He had his first time with a babysitter. We went to a wedding a few hours a way. So between the car rides (which he detests) and totally wrecking his schedule, he was happier being home. He didn't sleep very well for them, but I got a huge hug around my neck for his 2am feeding. And then he slept an hour and a half past his usually wake-up time the next morning.

-Had another shower. The ladies at the church threw him a clothes shower. (since he's growing like a week) So Tedy is all set with warm, fleecy outfits for the Iowa winter. And the best part was that my parents were here for fall break so my mom got to be at a shower for me for the first time!
