Tedy turned six months on September 28th
and since it was his half-birthday, we made a half of a cake.
only six more months til you actually get to EAT your cake, buddy

Our sweet, happy, (and increasingly opinionated!) baby boy:
  • has started to sit. He can last a few seconds un-assisted but he spends most of his sitting up time with the boppy behind him to protect that big old noggin' from the hardwood floor
  • has started to tolerate tummy time!! He went through a spell at the beginning of the month where he would roll over to his back immediately, but as his hand dexterity has improved, he's finding his tummy to be more tolerable as he can control his toys.
  • still no teeth
  • started to nap longer stretches and is down to only three good naps a day.
  • that being said, he stays up longer too. he stays up for three hours in the afternoon. (an amazing change from only a month ago when he was taking 5-6 naps!!)
  • has gotten the hang of eating solid food. as long as that food is rice cereal. He LOVES it and will open his little mouth waiting for the next bite like a little bird.
  • goes to bed between 6 and 6:30 pm. He's usually pretty restless until he gets his next bottle around 10pm. Then he sleeps until 2am for another bottle. Then he gets up for the day at 5:30am with daddy.
  • is wearing 9 months clothes (which are snug) and some 12 month. Everything else is too small!
  • His head has started to round out. He had a flat spot on the back left side.
  • Has flipped around in his baby tub since he can sit up. This makes splashing a lot more fun.
  • is very attached to mommy. He likes to be held and we are starting to see the beginnings of stranger anxiety.
  • uses his pinchers to pick up his pacifier and can put it in his mouth
  • still loves to be swaddled at night
  • has started to be able to settle him self down at night sometimes
  • as he starts to eat his bottle, lets his right hand slowly wander up to our faces to grab our noses, and put his hand on our mouth...all the while avoiding eye contact. just wants to make sure we are still there I guess
  • sweats like a pig when he sleeps :)
  • loves his jumper and is getting really good at getting some air!
  • started to try and turn the pages of the books we read to him. he even likes to play with books on his own
