Technically speaking, I guess we really have a few days til Summer gets here. But in my book, summer's ushered into my house when Strawberries are in season :)
And when they are marked down to $.99 I kind of go crazy.
I ended up buying enough to make around 12 jars of strawberry freezer jam.And since I'm been saving my smaller glass jars ( from alfredo sauce, artichokes, and jelly) over the winter I'm ready to make homemade gifts that won't break the bank.
I get my strawberries from Aldi, and they had a pretty good selection. If your local Aldi's strawberries are looking pretty sad...try another grocery store that has a price-matching policy (like Wal-Mart) You can get better selection at the same low price.
